PEDAGOGY

In today’s world pedagogy plays a vital role in the teaching learning process in the educational environment. To increase the standard of quality of the icoer students, there are many methods which are used by the college for the better education. The various methods used in Engineering & MBA programme are as follows:

Teaching learning process

1. The Teaching Learning process is the most important aspect of any academic system. The institution plans and organizes the teaching, learning and evaluation process to ensure that the respective program outcomes are achieved aligned with the mission and vision of the institute.
2. This framework helps the faculty members as well as the students to plan their lectures, research activities and other extracurricular activities and extension services to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
3. The requirements for instruments/equipments/softwares as per the new/current syllabus are taken from faculty and the purchase procedure is carried out.
4. Conditions of the existing instruments/equipments are inspected by the Maintenance work coordinator, appointed by HOD before the commencement of each semester and maintenance work is undertaken.
5. In the institute capacity Dean Academics, Head of the Department and various committees like AMC (Academics Monitoring Committee), DAB (Departmental Advisory Boards) are looking in the aspects of effective implementation of teaching learning process.
6. The Principal during his meeting of all departmental heads presents road map regarding effective teaching learning process.
7. The monitoring and follow up of such activities is taken, Better methods are planned and suggested to improve teaching and learning aspects and quality of teaching delivery.
8. In the beginning of academic session, the institute level committees are formed with the consent of the Principal and IQAC which helps to work on interdisciplinary aspects and academic quality assurance.
9. These committees are responsible for course file assessment, evaluation, grievances regarding various academics aspects and the quality of teaching and learning. This activity lasts for one complete day.
10. During this visit lab equipment working, course files checking, academics related aspects are checked and ensured that it is up to the mark. Any query found is documented immediately and respective head of the department is instructed to solve the same before the commencement of the academic session.

Lecture

Lectures are probably the most common teaching method found in the Engineering & MBA course. With this format, students are typically greeted by slides via a PowerPoint presentation during the lecture and engage with content through this mechanism. Lectures tend to be more of a “lean back” or passive experience that is driven more by the professor. This teaching method will be the most natural to students as it is very similar to the way many undergraduate classes are structured.

Case Study

The case study format involves a professor leading the students through a historical analysis of a business situation. The “cases” are largely the situations of the past and the present problems and students are expected to come up with a solution to some of history’s toughest business problems. Cases are commonly used as the driver for interactive classroom discussions and there is an expectation of strong class participation from all students.

Experiential Learning

One of the more truly immersive teaching methods is experiential learning. This method allows students to operate within a specific topical area or industry of interest. Classes ending with the moniker “lab” fall into this bucket. The internship programs, Industrial visits fall into this category. This method is all about learning while doing, a trend that continues to grow in many Engineering & MBA programme.
