From the HOD's Desk

To impart quality education to the students in order to develop competent engineers for the benefit of mankind is not the sole objective of our department. In addition to this, our venture is to transform our students into responsible, social and resourceful citizens of the country. Well-designed co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the students at departmental and institutional level are requiredto achievethe above said objectives to the fullest extent.
In our department,we regularly carry out expert lectures by technocrats/industry personnel, social awareness programs, industry-institute interactions through MoUs, entrepreneurship development programs, industrial visits, soft skill training, technical skill development programs, workshops, conferences, seminars, short term industrial trainings, visits to orphanages etc.
We as a team possess a dream where students love to attend the lectures, participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities with positive intent on their own and where faculty members strives to stay for long hours in the college premises for carrying out their research, consultancy work and academic related activities.
To make this dream a reality the synergic effect is desired from all corners of the institute, not only that a congenial and healthy atmosphere is required for the faculty members and students as well.
…………………… and we are moving into it.

Session on Teachers ethics and responsibilities.

As most people think about their favorite teachers, "ethics" probably does not enter their minds.  Very few people would say, “I liked that teacher because she was ethical.”  But ethics is a critical element in teaching and plays an important role in a teacher’s personal and professional life.  A teacher’s ethical stance will govern how he or she instructs and assesses students.  Ethics also will play a role in how a teacher interacts with students, with colleagues, with administrators and with the community at large.
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized Session on Teachers ethics and responsibilities on 29th December 2018.
DDr. Chandrakant Kulkarni graced the event and was the speaker as well. More than 55 faculties of Mechanical department attended this session. The faculty response was good and they motivated to demonstrate responsibility in their relationships with students, parents, guardians, colleagues, educational partners, other professionals, the environment and the public.

One Week Programme On Enrichment Of Teaching Learning Resources

One Week Programme on Enrichment of Teaching Learning Resources for faculties was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on from 10th to 14th December 2018 to help participants to develop new teaching and learning approaches in line with the curriculum content and to expose the participants to various assessment methods that support the desirable learning outcomes. The main aim of this event is learning to read, developing reading as a habit, reading to learn and access information, and reading for pleasure and enrichment. More than 50 faculties of Mechanical department attended this event. The faculty response was excellent and they enjoyed their work and getting extra knowledge about their subjects after the end of program.

Energy, Automation & Software Club Formation

One often thinks what the future is going to look like with continuous exhaustion of natural resources on earth. In the times of ongoing power crisis and unavailability of even basic electricity supply to some of the inhabitants of our nation, the future looks anything but ‘Bright’. In the present scenario the electricity demand is rising all over the world, more so in developing countries. To bridge the gap of demand & supply of power, it is very much required to ensure a judicious practice for electricity consumption at domestic and commercial level. Considering the limited quantum of fossil fuels available, ‘Electricity Saved is Electricity Generated’ becomes the mantra for sustaining the growth & development.
The merging of Automation and information is helping companies measure and manage productivity in new ways. Data available from the lot in manufacturing, for example, is improving decision making and machine performance. Club Automation is an innovative online Club Management solution that helps you streamline and automate a variety of both common and complex processes involved in producing well designed components.
As per the industry requirements, many more Software’s are required to handle day to day problems and situations, in this software club student learn Auto CAD, CATIA, Creo, Ansys, Abaqus, Hypermesh etc. to fulfill the industry requirement we are forming a Software club to enhance the skill and knowledge of students regarding these softwares.
Mechanical Engineering Department forms 3 clubs i.e. Energy, Automation & Software to get knowledge about these things and fulfill Industrial requirement. More than 200 Students and 50 faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department attended the Club formation event.

Student's Association

Mechanical Engineering Student Association(MESA)

Mechanical Engineering Student Association is a group, whose regular membership is comprised of students enrolled at mechanical department, as well as faculty, staff, or individuals from the community. However, only students can serve as officers or have a controlling interest in the Association.
The purpose of the student association is to give an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out extra curriculum activities. In addition, planning events that contribute to department spirit and community welfare the MESA is the voice of the student of department. It is important that they be given the opportunity to express their views on issues of concern to them in the department.
A few key advantages of promoting leadership through a student council for students are:
Team Building
This is one of the most essential skills that students learn by being a part of the student council. Being leaders of certain groups and societies, students learn to establish goals, delegate responsibility and give directions to their peers on executing tasks successfully.
Resource Utilization
Being in a Student Council, students learn innumerable skills including those of resource allocation and resource utilization. Utilization of resources is one of the key skills that, if learnt correctly, will help students lead a group efficiently. Such skills help them utilize the resources available to them in the best possible manner to achieve maximum results.
Prioritizing Tasks
Being in a position of leadership can teach students to take on multiple responsibilities. However, all tasks are not urgent or require immediate attention. Students must learn how to prioritize tasks according to their importance and need for immediate attention. To be able to prioritize, a person must have a clear vision and knowledge of their goals. This will enable them to effectively prioritize in terms of time, man power and resources required for each task.

Induction Programme for DSE students

An induction process which clarifies for all students the relative responsibilities of teacher and student, which creates an atmosphere of open experimentation where all students can be open about what they see as barriers to their learning, and which begins the work of helping students to develop effective learning. Mechanical Engineering Department organized Induction Programme for second year students to welcome as well as to familiarize students in the new environment. One and half hour’s session included with welcome of Chief guest, all teachers, students, followed by saraswati poojan, students speeches, teachers thoughts, chief guests speech. More than 400 Students of Second year engineering and all faculty members of Mechanical Engineering attended this function.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

Teachers' Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers, and may include celebrations to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general. The idea of celebrating Teachers' Day took root in many countries during the 19th century; in most cases, they celebrate a local educator or an important milestone in education. This is the primary reason why countries celebrate this day on different dates, unlike many other International Days. Teachers are known to shape the mind of youth and impart knowledge without which no one can exist in this world. Teacher imparts good values in children and turns them into responsible citizens. As a result of this Mechanical Engineering Students Association organized Teachers Day Celebration to salute all the teachers of Mechanical Engineering Department.
